We were invited to participate as an exhibitor at the Penang Digital Economy Summit 2025, and it was a valuable opportunity for us to engage directly with the wider digital ecosystem in Penang.

As exhibitors, we had the chance to showcase our work and exchange ideas with Penang-based startups, industry players, and visitors from different backgrounds. Many discussions centred on practical digital adoption, scalability, and how local solutions can be deployed effectively within both the private and public sectors. These conversations were particularly meaningful for us, as they aligned closely with our own focus on building usable, impact-driven technology.

A highlight for us was the presence of the Chief Minister of Penang, Mr. Chow Kon Yeow, whose involvement reinforced the state’s strong support for digital and technology-led growth. Seeing government leadership actively engaging with the ecosystem gave additional context to many of the conversations we had at our booth.

We also appreciated that the exhibition was open to the public. Throughout the day, we engaged with industry practitioners, corporate representatives, and decision-makers who were exploring practical digital tools and real-world applications. This openness created a more dynamic, business-focused atmosphere and allowed us to share our perspectives beyond a typical closed-door industry audience.

During the summit, EXCO for Infrastructure, Transport and Digital of Penang, YB Zairil Khir Johari highlighted Penang’s readiness and willingness to adapt to the fast-growing technology landscape. He noted that the pace of technological change requires governments, industries, and institutions to remain agile, continuously upskill talent, and embrace innovation proactively. His remarks underscored Penang’s commitment to staying relevant in a rapidly evolving digital economy by supporting forward-looking policies, industry collaboration, and the adoption of emerging technologies.

Overall, the Penang Digital Economy Summit 2025 reinforced our confidence in the direction Penang is heading. With strong government support, an active local startup ecosystem, and meaningful engagement from industry and corporates, the foundation for sustained digital growth is clearly in place. We were glad to be part of the conversation as exhibitors and look forward to continuing our role in contributing practical, impact-driven digital solutions to Penang’s evolving digital economy.
